Volunteer Services

Everyone has something to offer...

Volunteers touch every area of the work that we do. The pride and ownership they take in their work is important to our success.

Staff and volunteers are a team and work collaboratively on program development and implementation to fulfill Sage's Mission Statement: Inspiring and Supporting seniors to be the best they can be.

Time commitment is flexible, with most volunteer opportunities happening at Sage, Monday through Thursday, between 8:30am - 4:00pm. There are a range of Volunteer Opportunities to fit with your available time commitment:

  • Weekly commitment (minimum of one 4 hour shift)
  • Episodic (seasonal)
  • Project based
  • Self designed

Who volunteers at Sage? People just like you!

Whatever your motivation is for volunteering, whether you have just retired and want to use your skills and experience to make a meaningful difference in the community, or you want to learn a new skill or expand your social network...there is a wide range of volunteer opportunities available at Sage to meet everyone's aspiration.

For example:

  • Reception
  • Data Entry
  • Life Enrichment Instructors (special interest, languages, health and wellness, computers etc.)
  • Club Leaders (cards, games, photography, book, crafts, etc.)
  • Income Tax Preparation
  • Board Member
  • Special Event Assistant
  • Sage Ambassadors and Champions

These are only a few examples of volunteer positions. If you have a skill, talent or expertise and would like to self design a volunteer role that would support Sage, please contact 780-423-5510 or complete this form and email it to volunteer@mysage.ca.

Volunteers are recognized for their support and dedication through two annual Volunteer Appreciation events. We value the hard work, innovative ideas and commitment shown by our volunteers at Sage.

Sage follows the guidelines set out by the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement.
