The month of March not only signals a welcome change in our weather, it is also an important reminder to celebrate the profession of Social Work on a local and national scale.
The Social Workers Association of Alberta has decided to celebrate the Social Work Week from March 17 to 21. The chosen theme for this year’s collective reflection is “Connections in Social Work”.
Many social workers are a part of Sage’s multi-disciplinary team. As our social work colleagues celebrate their profession, we would like to acknowledge that their relentless efforts and exceptional expertise and commitment to the individuals and communities we serve are an integral in making Sage a welcoming space for all the seniors we serve.
With an intersectional approach to respecting and honoring the dignity and self-respect of the seniors we serve; we are humbly reminded that our meaningful work is only made possible by connecting with the micro and macro systems around us. We are immensely grateful to all our colleagues for supporting each other by sharing their knowledge, wisdom and skills with much grace. As the African proverb states: “ If you want to go far, go together”. That is exactly what we aspire to do.
